The Video Retainer

Terms of Service & Refund Policy

Skool Community

Please read these terms before joining. By purchasing membership, you agree to the terms below.

Part 1 — Terms of Service

1. This Agreement

These terms are between The Video Retainer, operated by Christian Tyahur ("we," "us") and anyone who purchases membership ("you," "the Member") to The Video Retainer community hosted on Skool.

2. What Membership Includes

3. Membership & Billing

Membership is billed monthly at €29/month, unless purchased during a different promotional price. Billing is automatic and recurring via Stripe's payment system until cancelled.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel your membership at any time from within your Skool account settings. Cancellation stops future billing. Billing is processed by Stripe, so we then cancel your Stripe subscription on your behalf, and you will not be charged for any billing period after the one you have already paid for. To help us find your subscription, please cancel using the email address you used at checkout; if your Skool email is different, contact support@thevideoretainer.com. You keep access to the community and course content until the end of your current paid period — cancelling does not remove access early.

5. Refunds

Because membership grants immediate access to digital content and an active community, purchases are generally non-refundable once access has been granted, except as described in Part 2 below or where required by law.

6. Community Conduct

Members agree to:

We may remove any member who violates these terms, without refund, at our discretion.

7. Content Ownership & Usage

8. Client Request Board — Important Disclaimer

The Client Request board connects Members with businesses seeking video work. The Video Retainer is not a party to any agreement a Member enters into with a business found through the board, and is not responsible for the outcome of that work, payment between the parties, or disputes that arise from it.

Contract templates provided as part of membership (the Retainer Agreement, One-Time Project Agreement, and related documents) are starting templates only, not legal advice, and each Member is responsible for their own agreements with their own clients.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued membership after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be posted in the community.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.

Part 2 — Refund & Cancellation Policy

How Cancellation Works

  1. Go to your account settings inside Skool.
  2. Select cancel membership. We then cancel your subscription in Stripe, our payment processor, on your behalf.
  3. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
  4. No further charges occur after cancellation. If you are ever charged for a period after you cancelled, email support@thevideoretainer.com and we will refund that charge.

Refund Policy

All membership payments are final. Because access to the course content and community is granted immediately upon payment, we do not offer refunds for any billing period, including the first. You may cancel at any time to stop future billing.

Chargebacks

If a payment is disputed with your bank or card provider instead of contacting us directly, we reserve the right to immediately remove community access while the dispute is resolved.

A Note on EU Consumer Rights

Consumers in the EU/EEA generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from online purchases, including digital services. This right is waived because the Member explicitly requests immediate access at checkout and acknowledges that they lose the right of withdrawal once the service begins. By completing checkout, the Member agrees to immediate access to this digital service and confirms they understand they lose their 14-day right of withdrawal once they do.
